Good Neighbor Pharmacy Hits NASCAR Circuit

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Demonstrating the broad range of NASCAR’s sponsorship appeal, the Good Neighbor Pharmacy will be riding on the hood of a stock car next year.

The network of nearly 2,800 independently owned and operated pharmacies struck a five-year deal as flagship sponsor of a car from Diversified Racing Solutions. Good Neighbor Pharmacy is affiliate under the corporate umbrella of AmerisourceBergen.

The car will carry the pharmacy’s logo and display MyGNP.com on the side of a car to be driven by veteran wheelman Chris Bristol in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The number of races the car runs on that circuit depends on Bristol qualifying to compete in them.

“GNP has a strong customer base in many of the NASCAR Nationwide Series racing markets, and we hope to expand our market penetration with this partnership,” said Dave Neu, senior vice president of retail sales and marketing for merisourceBergen.

GNP aims to run its car in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2010.

The racing team will be funded primarily by associate sponsors. GNP will target its promotional activities around specific races and will fund community outreach initiatives to compliment the team’s racing schedule.
