Gillette Dangles $1 Million for Pick of NASCAR Top Finishers

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

The Gillette Co. is offering up the chance of $1 million to the NASCAR fan who picks the correct finishing order of its sponsored racecar drivers called the Gillette Young Guns.

Players can go to GilletteYoungGuns.com to register and find instructions on ranking the order of how they predict the six Young Guns will finish. The Young Guns are: Kurt Busch (Roush Racing); Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (Dale Earnhardt, Inc.); Kevin Harvick (Richard Childress Racing); Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports); Matt Kenseth (Roush Racing) and Ryan Newman (Penske Racing South, Inc.).

Following the six Million Dollar Races, which began Sept. 2 in Loudon, NH, and end Oct. 22 in Martinsville, VA, the player who scores the single highest point total for any one of the six races will get the chance at the $1 million prize. That player gets a trip for two to the Nov. 20 race in Miami Homestead, FL, where if he or she picks the Young Gun winner of that race, will take home the $1 million.

Gillette signed the deal with the drivers in 2003 and was expected to spend $20 million activating the sponsorship last year. Gillette ran a similar promotion offering the chance at $5 million. The drivers had to finish one through six in one of two races and the winner must have chosen the correct finishing order.
