Music network fuse and Cox Communications are teaming up to roll out a new promotion designed to cast a spotlight on the next music video star for the network’s On Demand program.
To support the search for the next music video star for fuse On Demand, the network and Cox Cable have launched a contest, Light the Fuse On Your Music Career. Participants 16 and older are invited to create music videos from one to three minutes in duration based on original music, then submit them online to MySpace.com/fuse through Nov. 4.
The goal of the promotion is “to take our expertise and youth culture marketing where our demographic is and bring it to the cable operator,” said Joe Glennon, senior VP-distribution for fuse. The promotion targets 12- to 34-year-olds.
Judges from fuse and Deep Focus, the Brooklyn, NY, marketing company that developed the promotion, will narrow the pool down to five finalists. Consumers can vote on the finalists from Nov. 7-15. The music video that receives the most votes will be featured and promoted on fuse’s VOD service, fuse On-Demand, Cox Cable’s broadband music video site and MySpace.com.
