According to a report from General Sentiment, Facebook is the top global brand, generating $751 million of “Impact Media Value.” Apple was No. 2 with a brand value of $657 million, followed by Google with a brand value of $547 million and MTV with a brand value of $536 million. Amazon, Samsung, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Disney and Yahoo rounded out the top 10. On the flip side, Chevron, FedEx, AES Corporation, Allegheny Energy and Mattel were big losers during the third quarter, according to General Sentiment. It will be interesting to see if Facebook’s spot atop this list for the current quarter is threatened by its woes in the stock market. (General Sentiment, MediaPost)
