Facebook Tests ‘Suggested Posts’ to Push Page Content Beyond Fans

Posted on

Facebook logoPrerequisite connections be damned: Facebook is testing ads that push posts from companies’ pages to users who aren’t fans of their page. “These ads will look like other Page post ads in news feed and be labeled as sponsored,” a Facebook spokesperson said. “We think this will make it easier for businesses to reach more people. This is a small test and we’re constantly gathering feedback from people on how to improve our ad experience.” Facebook’s Sponsored Stories ad format displays posts in users’ News Feeds from pages they’re a fan of. This new “Suggested Post” ad type would allow brands to blast messages beyond the walls of their fan base. This makes sense for Facebook, but it obviously has risks. (Marketing Land)
