Ben Isaacson has a new job. The former head of the Association for Interactive Marketing (AIM) has been hired by Experian as privacy and compliance leader. Isaacson will initially focus on oversight of privacy policies and procedures, particularly in the data company’s e-marketing business. He will also represent the company as a speaker throughout the industry, “monitoring and influencing industry trends and changes that impact Experian and its clients,” according to a company statement.
“I think it’s a fabulous opportunity,” Isaacson said, noting that he and Experian share a vision of multichannel data-privacy issues. “One of my immediate goals will be to make sure that all e-mailers are aware of compliance and best practices and self-regulatory assistance that there are out there.”
Isaacson will work out of Experian’s Costa Mesa, CA headquarters.
“Ben is a trusted asset among marketers and will play a valuable role as we continue to strengthen our leadership expertise in the online and offline privacy arenas,” said Laura Mundy, vice president of compliance for Experian, in a statement.
Isaacson recently ran a consulting firm, The Isaacson Group, which provided online policy and marketing services. For six years before that, he had headed up AIM, the Direct Marketing Association’s interactive services arm.
