ePrize Evacuates Building Following Explosion

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Promotions firm ePrize evacuated its Pleasant Ridge, MI headquarters, following an explosion Friday at 2:15 p.m. when a crane outside the building hit a power line.

Two contractors working on the fourth floor were seriously injured and taken to the hospital by ambulance, reported Alesya Opelt, senior director of marketing for ePrize.

At about 5 p.m., the workers’ condition was still not known, she added.

“The fire department came and put out the fire,” Opelt said, adding that ePrize’s 275 employees evacuated the building situated in the Detroit suburb, and were able to return about an hour later.

The computer system was down for an hour, but there has been no loss of data, she said.
