Electronic Arts cut an exclusive, four-year deal with the Arena Football League to produce an AFL video game in time for the start of the 2006 AFL season.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but EA will share in the proceeds of future expansion-team sales during the length of the deal.
Other games will follow over the next four years (beginning with the 2005 AFL season). EA and the AFL will partner for media and retail marketing of the video games.
This will be the league’s second life in a video game form. Soon after former AFL quarterback Kurt Warner was named Super Bowl XXXIV MVP in 2000, Midway released Kurt Warner’s Arena Football Unleashed.
