EA, Spielberg Collaborate on Video Games

Electronics Arts and Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg have formed a long-term agreement to create three new and original game franchise properties.

Spielberg will work with development teams at EA’s Los Angeles, CA, studio to bring his storytelling style to the concept, design, story and visualization to the new games. Under the agreement, Redwood, City, CA-based EA will own the properties, and will develop, publish and distribute the games worldwide.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“There is no greater storyteller than Steven Spielberg,” said EA Chairman and CEO Larry Probst, in a statement. “In addition to his gift for pleasing movie audiences, he has an innate understanding of games and how to immerse players into a fantastic world of action and characters.”
