Market pressures push online restructuring

With the implosion of the Internet market, many companies that created separate entities for their online businesses are folding those divisions back into the main company.

The investing atmosphere is not conducive to a successful initial public offering for these separate units and costs can be cut by combining operations. In certain circumstances, marketers are finding that it makes more sense to combine the two channels now that they have developed some online know-how. They are also seeking to be truly multichannel.
