Dunkin’ Donuts is slated to hit the streets of New York rewarding loyal customers for their patronage with gift cards.
Brand reps, or “spies,” will hand out 600 $5 gift cards to anyone they see with a Dunkin’ Donuts cup or bag during the morning commute in the New York City area today and on Thursday. In addition, four people will each receive a $99 gift card.
Reps will be traveling by foot searching for customers in Hicksville, Long Island and Penn Station/Herald Square today and in Hoboken, NJ, and New York City on Feb. 12.
The giveaways are a component of Dunkin’s newly launched “You Kin’ Do It” campaign where all stores in the tri-state area are now offering Lattes for only 99-cents. The promotion reinforces that “customers can still indulge in a high-quality beverage without blowing the lids off their budgets,” the company said.
Dunkin’ Donuts‘ marketing plan often includes giveaways. The company gave away 6,000 $2 MTA cards to commuters in Manhattan over the last month. That giveaway was another stunt to promote the firm’s ad campaign and to show customers that the company is behind people in tough economic times.
