Employees of direct marketing agency DraftFCB in New York Thursday were delayed getting into work because of a stabbing which occurred in the lobby of the Manhattan Mall where their offices are located.
A knife-wielding man stabbed what is believed to be his girlfriend or ex-girlfriend in the busy mall lobby during the morning rush hour spattering the lobby with blood.
As a result, employees of DraftFCB and Bank of America Securities, which also has offices there, were unable to gain access to their offices through their usual entrance on 100 W. 33rd Street.
They were diverted to one of the building’s freight elevators.
A 35-year-old unidentified woman was reportedly stabbed in the back, arm, and wrists and taken to Bellevue hospital. Her assailant, who police reportedly had to subdue with a straightjacket, was also taken to Bellevue.
Neither the stabbing victim nor her assailant were believed to be employees of DraftFCB.
