InfoUSA, Omaha, NE has purchased DoubleClick Inc.’s e-mail List Services division.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal gives infoUSA a readymade e-mail list brokerage and management business. DoubleClick’s divestment will allow the New York-based electronic marketing firm to concentrate on its e-mail technology business, according to the company.
The e-mail List Services division has 45 branded files and more than 40 million opt-in names under its management, as well as 28 million postal names and addresses.
The deal includes an exclusive five-year technology agreement for DoubleClick’s DARTmail e-mail technology, which will deliver e-mail messages for the List Services unit.
As part of the deal infoUSA will also be the first customer of DoubleClick’s list selector, a DARTmail module that allows list owners and managers to perform real-time counts, to reserve inventory and to present advertiser-specific reporting and billing.
