Dole Food Co. is joining the ranks of brands creating whimsical floats for the much watched 2011 Rose Parade.
To celebrate its first entry into the parade, Dole has just launched a sweepstakes on Facebook offering the winner a trip to the parade on New Year’s Day.
The winner and a guest will sit in the grandstands at the start of the parade on Colorado Boulevard as a personal VIP guest of Dole.
The “Living Well in Paradise” sweepstakes includes a four-day, three-night trip to Los Angeles from Dec. 30, 2010 to Jan. 2, 2011.
To enter, consumers “like” Dole on Facebook. People who enter also have a chance to randomly win 100 Dole Rose Parade limited edition commemorative pins each week between Nov. 4 and Dec. 23.
The float celebrates the beauty of Hawaii, where the company was founded in 1851. It will be festooned with fire dancers, a Hawaiian outrigger, five waterfalls, whimsical monkeys, colorful birds and of course, fresh and fruit grown by Dole.
