Veteran direct marketer Julius Jack Spector died at age 86 in Los Angeles last Thursday, Direct Newsline has learned.
Specter was a copywriter for j. Walter Thompson, helping to launch the Ford Mustang, Grey Advertising and J.J. Spector advertising. He co-founded the Florida Direct Marketing Association, and received a Silver Apple award for lifetime achievement.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Rosen of Los Angeles CA; and a son, Eric Spector, of Kensington CA.
Spector also served as an art director for Russeks, an Air Force magazine, and Macy’s.
