Digital River, a Minneapolis-based provider of electronic software delivery systems, has acquired electronic commerce system providers, Maagnum Internet Group and Public Software Library Ltd. For Maagnum, Digital paid $2.5 million in cash and 116,650. For PSL, Digital paid cash and 161,842 shares o common stock, valued at approximately $6.5 million.
The acquisitions 0expand Digital’s client base to include 2,500 new clients who are publishers of shareware, a new market for Digital River. Both Maagnum and PSL possess shareware transaction processing capabilities enabling consumers to purchase software after a free download.
