Diamondz are a Bratz Best Friend

MGA Entertainment Inc. is rolling out a new line to its popular Bratz doll collection called Forever Diamondz offering consumers the chance to bring home their very own diamond.

The Bratz Forever Diamondz collection features five different dolls that include a piece of jewelry with a real diamond chip. The dolls, known for their large-sized heads and eyes, hit store shelves on Aug. 1. The collection targets girls ages eight and up and retail for $29.99.

“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” says Isaac Larian, CEO, MGA Entertainment. The Van Nuys, CA-based company unveiled the Forever Diamondz collection and other new products at Toy Fair in New York City last month.

To boost the launch, MGA Entertainment is giving consumers the chance to win their very own diamonds. Consumers who buy specially marked packages of Forever Diamondz will receive a code in the package. Codes can be entered online starting Aug. 1 through Dec. 31 at Bratz.com. One winner per day will receive a diamond. In addition, MGA Entertainment is giving away a 1-carat diamond per month. One grand-prize winner will receive a 2-carat diamond right after Christmas.

The effort marks the first time the Bratz collection will include diamond chip jewelry sets, Larian says. Online materials and TV spots will support.
