To boost support of its original primetime shows, Court TV is launching a 10-city tour that will link consumers to network programming.
The Seriously Entertaining Summer Tour kicks off June 11 in Washington, DC, and will travel to major fairs and festivals in Detroit, Burlington, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Lexington, Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis and Indianapolis. National brands Geico, Lipton Ice Tea and Maalox are sponsoring the tour.
The interactive tour will include four activity zones and a main stage event. Each activity zone will be themed around one of Court TV’s hottest shows—Masterminds, Psychic Detectives, Parco PI, The Smoking Gun and Casino Takedown. The tour will let visitors have an inside look into the network’s popular programs and interact with them.
For example, visitors can try to crack the code to a six-foot safe and win prizes for their effort at The Masterminds Code-Cracking Challenge. To boost buzz around Court TV’s new hybrid reality series Parco PI, visitors can try their hand passing a real lie detector test, use X-ray spray to view sealed documents and check out the latest investigation tools to see if they have the skills to be a private investigator.
“Our goal is to give tour visitors the whole Court TV experience by introducing them to the network’s dynamic and edgy programs, which encompass the elements of puzzle-solving and great story-telling,” said Marc Juris, general manager, programming and marketing in a statement.
More than 1 million people are expected to attend tour venues nationwide. Javelin, a St. Louis-based event marketing agency, handles.
