Could Snapchat Be a Viable Option for Marketers and Small Businesses?

Snapchat logoSurely you’ve heard of Snapchat by now, and surely you’ve heard how it’s supposedly a breeding ground for sexting. So could this app, which lets users send each other pictures or videos that self-destruct after a few seconds, be a useful tool for marketers and merchants? One frozen-yogurt chain in New York City is about to find out.

According to Mashable, 16 Handles realized that many of its customers were using Snapchat accounts to send photos of themselves or their friends consuming one of its flavors to “Love16Handles” via the app, in exchange for a coupon that offers anywhere from 16-100 percent off on their purchase. The user has 10 seconds to let the cashier scan the coupon.
