CoolSavings Rolls Out Name Change

Interactive marketing services company CoolSavings, Inc., has changed its name to Q Interactive, an effort to show the company offers more than just online couponing.

In a recent announcement, the company said the name change signifies its growth and range of services in addition to online coupons, including lead generation, e-mail and loyalty programs across its network of Web properties and partner sites. The new name,

Q Interactive, is meant to show the company’s ability to deliver “high quality and high quantity” results for advertising clients and network partners, the company said.

The new corporate brand identity coincides with last month’s transaction by Norfolk, VA-based Landmark Communication Inc., [http://www.landmarkcom.com/] under which Q Interactive became a private company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Landmark.

Founded in 1995, the company launched its leading consumer Web site CoolSavings.com in 1997 to give advertisers a way to deliver coupons and savings to registered site users. To date, more than 45 million people are registered on the site.

Since then, the brand has evolved beyond couponing to other forms of online marketing. CoolSavings offers appear on other publisher Web sites, including Weather.com and About.com.

“The Q Interactive name and brand is the culmination of more than ten years of continuing advancements in our service,” said Matthew Wise, senior VP- marketing for Q Interactive, in a statement. “Today, our performance-based marketing programs span an extensive advertising network, helping more than 1,500 leading brands per year generate more than 100 million quality consumer responses.”

The CoolSavings brand name and the piggybank icon will continue to serve as the company’s original consumer savings home at CoolSavings.com.
