College sports hits the road next weekend with the NCAA Beyond the Game Tour Presented by CBS, which debuts at Atlanta’s Mall of Georgia on March 14.
While coinciding with the start of the NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournament, the tour, which runs through December, honors college sports ranging from football to sculling.
Cingular Wireless and Coca-Cola sponsor the tour, which features five interactive zones such as Cingular Saves of the Game (baseball), the Coca-Cola Gridiron Challenge (football), Performance Plays (basketball), Sync or Swim (skulling) and Catch, Cradle and Throw (lacrosse). The NCAA Champions Theater will show highlights from great moments in NCAA sports history as well as CBS Sports’ “One Shining Moment,” an annual tribute to men’s basketball.
The tour also features the Cingular Live Bar, which lets fans make free calls from new wireless phones, and the Coca-Cola Photo Café, so fans can e-mail photos of themselves at the tour. The Coca-Cola Contour Prize Bottle will award prizes at each stop. CMI, New York City, handles.
