In an attempt to keep moviegoers from talking on their cell phones during movies, Cingular Wireless is out in some theaters with a new public service announcement that spotlights cell phone etiquette.
The new PSA is a second in the series that features the ‘Inconsiderate Cellphone Man’ who uses his cell phone at a variety of inappropriate times and places. The PSA airs in Loews Cineplex Entertainment and Regal Entertainment Group theaters.
Cingular has renewed its partnership agreements with the two theater groups and produced 20-second courtesy announcements that run prior to feature presentations on more than 6,000 Loews and Regal Entertainment screens in about 700 U.S. locations. In addition, Cingular promotes its cell phone courtesy reminders on movie theater popcorn bags and box office handouts.
