ChoicePoint Inc. reported net income of $36.4 million for the second quarter, up slightly from $36.3 million last year.
The data compiling firm reported revenue of $266 million for the quarter ended June 30, up 15% from $231.4 million last year.
The Alpharetta, GA company posted these results, following admissions last February that it had sold Social Security and driver’s license numbers to identity thieves, no questions asked (Direct, March 15).
“I am extremely pleased with the continued revenue growth momentum this quarter,” said CEO Derek V. Smith, in a statement. “Additionally, we implemented key changes that reduced the risk of our business model and reinforced our leadership as a responsible information company.”
