Changes in Eddie Bauer Lines Will Be Reflected in Catalogs

Shifts in emphasis within two of Redmond, WA-based marketer Eddie Bauer will be reflected in its catalogs and stores. The more dramatic of the two changes, an increase in offerings among baby bedding and furniture, will be initially reflected in catalogs released under the company’s Eddie Bauer Home catalog, starting with the April publication. A conversion to reflect the change in merchandise is planned for all 39 Eddie Bauer Home stores is planned for July.

The second set of changes, to the company’s AKA Eddie Bauer line, will involve incorporating the line into the Eddie Bauer sportswear stores and catalogs. The AKA Eddie Bauer catalog, which is issued seven times a year, will be printed through 1999, but the offerings will also be incorporated into the firm’s Eddie Bauer sportswear catalogs.

According to a spokesperson, page count in each catalog may increase to reflect the new lines, but the company does not plan to increase the catalog’s mailing volume.

Eddie Bauer offers casual lifestyle clothing, accessories and home furnishing through Eddie Bauer, AKA Eddie Bauer, and Eddie Bauer Home. The AKA Eddie Bauer line will be incorporated into the company’s new Eddie Bauer sportswear line throughout 1999. No changes in the catalog’s circulation or page counts are expected.
