The United States Census Bureau has completed the year 2000-population count. The Bureau will now contact about 12 million households to double-check possibly non-existent addresses or households too new to have been included.
Only two-thirds of the questionnaires that were delivered in March to all 120 million households were returned by April. The remaining 42 million households were visited in person.
