Canon Extends PGA Tour Partnership

Canon USA has extended its marketing partnership with the PGA Tour through 2010.

The deal maintains Canon’s status as the official camera and binoculars of the PGA Tour and Champions Tour, as well as official copier, printer and scanner. Canon has been an official PGA Tour sponsor since 1999.

Canon plans to continue using the partnership for client entertainment at tournaments with player endorsements for outings and appearances. It places signage at events and will also place ads on PGATour.com and other PGA Tour media platforms.

The monetary value of the new three-year partnership was not revealed.

“With this new agreement, we look forward to building upon our relationship, and working with the PGA Tour to promote its events and commitments to the game of golf,” said Canon spokesperson William Reed in a statement.

In addition to its tour sponsorship, the company sponsors a number of PGA and LPGA players on their respective tours. Canon has also been title sponsor of the Canon Cup, the leading junior golf match play team competition, since 1990.

Canon also has long-standing relationships with the Metropolitan Golf Association, the American Junior Golf Association and the Executive Women’s Golf Association.
