Burger King Appoints CMO

Burger King last week tapped Robert Klein, a former chief marketing officer from 7-Eleven as its CMO.

Klein fills the post vacated by Chris Clouser who left the Miami-based QSR May 1 (Xtra, March 26). Clouser was executive VP, CMO and president of BK Brands.

Klein’s appointment coincided with a campaign from newly appointed ad shop Young & Rubicam, which broke on Sunday. Klein also previously worked at Foote Cone & Belding and Dr Pepper/Seven-Up.

In other news, BK established an operations leadership team, which includes new positions for company vets and brought in Taco Bell’s Dave Gagnon as senior VP of U.S. Company Restaurant Operations. The team of four will report to BK President Bob Nilsen.
