British Telecom to Market Wireless Web Phones

London-based British Telecommunications Plc plans to offer wireless Web phones and expects to sell 500,000 of the wireless application protocol handsets between April and June. This would be the first mass roll-out for mobile Internet service in the U.K.

The company named 30 partners for the service, including broadcaster BSkyB Plc, bank First Direct and travel Web site Travelocity.
