Tweet, Tweet, Tweet, Tweet, spam!

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Here we go again. I really like Social Media and have seen it work, but it looks like Twitter is going the way of email and other social media by allowing folks who Tweet to get paid for their efforts.

I guess I am old school, as I admit I have an ethical dilemma with this approach. It makes word of mouth marketing, well, less credible. And without credibility, your messaging suffers and your sales will too.

I can see the faux-homeless person at the side of the highway, sitting down with a laptop. Instead of “Will work for food,” the sign now reads “I Tweet for a living.”

Here’s one such site.

I already get way too many spam-Tweets as is, but this will only make things worse.
