New Documentary Takes Advertising to the Movies

logo_art_copy.gifSo, has anyone out there caught a screening of
“Art & Copy,” the new documentary about advertising and inspiration?

What did you think? It hasn’t hit my city yet, but it looks pretty interesting. The movie features ad biz luminaries like George Lois, Mary Wells, Dan Wieden, Lee Clow and Hal Riney talking about the classic campaigns they helped create.

From our perspective, we just have to give them props for following marketing 101 when it comes to their Web site. There’s prominent links to sign up for a mailing list, as well as links to their presences on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

C’mon folks, here’s your chance to be Siskel, Ebert, Roper or Shalit. Give us your review. Is it thumbs up or thumbs down?

(And, if you want more on the history of the biz, check out this Q&A with George Lois and our special section on the history of direct marketing.)
