The Charles Schwab Corp. has tapped Jody Bilney as executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
Bilney joins Schwab from Verizon Communications Inc. in New York, where she was senior vice president in charge of brand management and marketing communications.
Before that, she was president of Verizon’s Consumer Markets enterprise. In 1994, she joined GTE, one of Verizon’s predecessor companies, after spending 10 years at DowBrands Inc., a marketer of consumer package goods.
“Jody is a proven executive who’s been successful at some of the world’s largest and most respected companies,” said David S. Pottruck, president and co-CEO, of the San Franciso stock trading firm.
Bilney will direct strategy for the company’s brand, marketing and corporate communications. She will also join the firm’s eight-member executive committee.
