A House committee plans to consider a bill that would exempt from sales taxes goods that can be downloaded over the Internet, Reuters reported.
The House Energy and Commerce Committee plans to take up a bill in July that would prohibit states and municipalities from taxing digital music, software and other intangible goods sold over the Internet. The bill will be considered even if Congress allows states to tax other online sales, the report said.
