Best Western International has teamed up with the Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock” to launch a travel card promotion designed to incent hotel stays during the summer.
Members of Best Western’s loyalty program, Gold Crown Club International, who stay six nights at any of chain’s nearly 4,000 hotels worldwide through Aug. 17 will receive a $50 “Camp Rock” travel card. The card can be used on room fees and other incidentals, such as room service, the company said.
Eligible guests must belong to Best Western’s rewards program to qualify. Some 8 million people belong to the program
Gift cards are a good incentive to drive repeat business, especially in a soft economy, Best Western said.
“The travel cards boost stays at Best Western because consumers are able to use them nearly anywhere in the world where they might be traveling,” Troy Rutman, a Best Western International spokesman, said.
To further promote the offer, Best Western is hosting a video contest that asks entrants to submit short videos of their worst summer job experience through Aug. 17. The top winner in the “Worst Summer Job Ever” contest will receive an all-expense paid vacation for two, a $1,000 Best Western travel card for hotel accommodations and a $100 prepaid gas card.
The company is promoting the campaign online and via TV spots.
