Barnes&Noble. com Trims Losses

Barnes & Noble.com reported a net loss of $17.5 million for the third quarter, a 54% over a $38.3 million loss last year.

Consolidated net sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 were $102.6 million, up 5.9 % from $96.8 million last year.

“We are pleased with our third quarter results, which reflect strong sales momentum coupled with significant efficiency gains that enabled us to reduce our losses more quickly than we had originally forecast,” said CEO Marie Toulantis, in a statement.
