Barefield Named CEO at GiftCertificates.com
GiftCertificates.com has named Timothy Barefield CEO.
He replaces Michael Ahern, who will remain a member of the company’s board of directors. Ahern had been CEO of GiftCertificates.com since 2000.
Barefield joined the Seattle-based company in March of 2000 and has been the company’s executive VP of corporate sales and business development since May 2002. He had previously served as VP-operations and VP-human resources.
Prior to joining GiftCertificates.com, Barefield held senior management positions at Swissotel, a global Swiss luxury hotel chain, and Accor North America, the U.S. arm of a French hotel chain.
The company also announced that Mike Andrews has been appointed VP-corporate sales, and will assume Barefield’s operational responsibilities for corporate sales. Prior to joining GiftCertificates.com, Andrews was VP of sales for HouseValues.com.
In other news, Giftcertificates.com has launched the Gifting Resource Center at Giftingresources.com. The center provides in-depth content full of tips and information about gifting occasions, etiquette, and traditions along with answers to frequently asked questions about gifts and the gifting process. It also offers an array of ideas on how to assemble and thematically package several gift certificates.
