Audio Book Club and Doubleday Online to Develop Web Site

Audio Book Club, Inc., Boca Raton, FL, and Doubleday Online will launch a co-branded Web site early this summer. The site will include a comprehensive cross marketing and advertising campaign. The two companies will also cross promote the other’s services through animated links and banners to be located on their respective Web sites, including Doubleday’s http://www.doubledaybookclub.com and http://www.literaryguild.com sites and Audio Book Club’s http://www.audiobookclub.com site.

“By allowing us access to Doubleday’s total member file through the cross-promotion of our various Internet sites, our recent marketing alliance should also allow us to increase the company’s online revenue through an increase in member recruitment,” said Audio Book Club chairman and CEO Nortor Herrick in a statement.

Following its acquisition of the Columbia House Audiobook Club and Doubleday Direct’s Audiobooks Direct division, Audio Book Club, Inc. will have a combined membership and customer database of approximately two million names.

Doubleday Online is the interactive arm of Doubleday Direct. Both Doubleday Online and Doubleday Direct are subsidiaries of Bertelsmann, Inc. Audio Book Club, Inc. is a marketer of audiobooks through its membership club which markets and sells audiobooks via the Internet.
