American Eagle Outfitters Swaps Movies for Denim Trials

American Eagle Outfitters is once again rewarding customers with a free movie ticket to those who try on a pair of jeans from its new denim line.

The retailer is giving away 1.2 million movie tickets to visitors who try on a pair of jeans at select American Eagle Outfitters stores through Sept. 19, or until supplies last. Customers who buy a pair of jeans will receive two free movie tickets, the company said. The giveaway is part of the retailer’s “Denim and a Movie” offer.

People can choose to receive two AMC tickets, two Regal Cinema tickets or a $10 AE Money Card. Details are available at www.ae.com.

This the second time in two years that American Eagle has partnered with AMC Entertainment to drive traffic to its stores with the movie ticket incentive. New this year, the chain added Regal Cinemas and Movie Cash through TPG to reach additional customers, the company said.

“’Denim and a Movie’ is designed to delight and reward our customers while the getting the word out about AE’s all new denim collection for the season,” Kathy Savitt, the company’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said in a statement.

The incentive follows a similar effort the retail launched in August offer a free T-shirt with a jean try out.

Online marketing and in-store signage support the effort.
