American Airlines, MasterCard Team Up with Sweeps

American Airlines and MasterCard Worldwide has partners to launch a sweepstakes tied to Universal Studio’s “The Bourne Ultimatum” for a chance to win 1 million AAdvantage bonus miles.

The Sum it Up Sweepstakes is designed to boost membership of American Airlines’ loyalty program, AAdvantage.

During the promotion, members log on to AA.com/SumItUp and guess how many AAdvantage miles Jason Bourne has accumulated in his chase around the world. One grand-prize winner will receive the bonus AAdvantage miles and a $6,000 MasterCard gift card. The first-prize winner gets a trip for two to Los Angeles for a Universal red carpet premiere event, which includes a VIP party, hotel accommodations, VIP tour of Universal Hollywood, and a $2,000 MasterCard gift card.

The sweepstakes runs through July 31. Online materials support the promotion.

Consumers can earn an additional entry when they book travel on AA.com with their MasterCard.

The airline and MasterCard are also supporting the promotion with in-flight activities, including a Biscoff cookie giveaway on domestic flights of more than two hours and showing the trailer for “The Bourne Ultimatum.”

The Bourne Ultimatum, which launches in theaters Aug. 3, follows the story of a man who tries to discover the final mysteries of his past while a government agent tracks him down after a shootout in Moscow.
