Airgas Inc., a direct marketer of industrial gases, has acquired Energy Safety Services, doing business as Oilind Safety, a provider of rental safety equipment.
Terms were not disclosed.
The companies expect to complete the transaction by July 1.
Oilind, based in Phoenix, will operate as a stand-alone company within Airgas.
With the acquisition, Jack Appolonia has been promoted to vice president of construction and rental businesses. He had been a company area vice president since Aug. 2004.
Airgas said it intends to offer employment to more than 200 Oilind Safety associates working in 16 locations, primarily in the Western U.S.
