Webinars are an effective multipurpose tool for any marketer trying to generate leads.

Running them might require mastering a slight learning curve, but once webinars are an established part of a company’s strategy, they can actually benefit and feed other lead-generation tactics.

To get ideas for webinar topics, a marketer doesn’t need to look very far. Potential subjects are all around them, from Quora, to the top searches on their company’s website, to the comments section of their blog, to discussions in LinkedIn groups, among many other places. Once a topic is selected, there are some important things to keep in mind.

Target your audiences
“Using a webinar to successfully generate sales leads starts with having the right audience,” says Kira Salem, director of marketing at Personify. To find the right people for a webinar, marketers should peruse their existing lists of contacts and clients, or get help from a company that has interactions with your desired audience.

“Taking the steps to pinpoint those with the highest lead-gen potential before the webinar even begins is key,” she says.
