1-800-Flowers.com Inc. posted a net loss of $22.2 million for the fourth quarter, compared with net income of $4.3 million in the prior year.
The direct marketer reported revenue of $172.5 million for the quarter ended June 30, a decrease from $186.9 million last year.
The Carle Place, NY firm posted gross profit margin for the quarter of 38.6% of sales compared with 40.8% in the prior year.
Management attributed these results in part to “unprecedented weakness in the consumer economy during the year and the resulting increase in promotional pricing.”
