1-800-Flowers.com Income Surges in Quarter

1-800-Flowers.com Inc. reported net income of $16.9 million for the second quarter, a 63.7% surge over net income of $10.3 million in the prior year period.

The flowers and gifts direct marketer reported revenue of $329.9 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2006, an 18.7% gain over revenues of $277.8 million last year.

The Carle Place, NY firm attributed these results to the acquisition of Fannie May Confections Brands last May and to growth in its consumer floral and food and gift basket businesses.
