Looking for that dream job? Perhaps you’d like to travel to Los Angeles and tag along with a celebrity reporter to hear the latest gossip and meet superstars face to face. Or, maybe you’d like to spend three days at the Godiva Chocolate Co. tasting chocolate and touring its boutiques.
All are possible through a national sweeps that Yahoo HotJobs launched Monday, dangling a chance for eight winners to discover that once-in-a-lifetime job by shadowing noted business leaders.
The Big Game Plan encourages participants to enter at Hotjobs.com, where they can fill out a form and select one of eight job experiences that they would like to win and either update or post their resume.
In addition to tagging along with a celebrity reporter from Star Magazine or a stint at Godiva Chocolate, another dream job offered is a whirlwind tour of the TLC hit show What Not to Wear. The winner heads to New York to see how filming locations are secured, wardrobe changes are supervised and how the experts shop for the show. Another features three days at the Consumer Reports Auto Test Center, where the winner experiences auto testing operations and gets a ride with engineers and a chat over lunch. Other industries include music, food and beverage, entertainment and athletics. The sweeps ends Feb. 8.
Yahoo HotJobs research found that three out of four Americans (78%) believe there is a dream job out there for them. However, less than one third believes that their current job is the one. The survey also found that more than 50% of respondents said they would take a pay cut or pursue an unpaid internship or apprenticeship to land their dream job.
