Yahoo Inc. has expanded the capacity of its free e-mail service. All users have been upgraded to 100 megabyte mailboxes from the four or six megabytes (depending on when they initially signed up) that had previously been the standard.
Additionally, the new mailboxes now accept messages of up to 10 megabytes.
Premium subscribers, including those that pay for SBC Yahoo! Dial and DSL, have been given 2 gigabyte mailboxes. The company has also opened up 50 million Yahoo! IDs
