Xbox 360 Gets a Lot of Buzz

According to the latest figures released by Nielsen Online, the Xbox 360 is getting a lot of online buzz this holiday season.

Between November 1st and December 9th, the Microsoft Xbox was the topic of 41.6 percent of all blog posts about game consoles, according to Nielsen Online.

The Nintendo Wii was in second with 29.8 percent of the buzz, followed by the Sony PlayStation with 28.6 percent of the buzz.

During the same time period, TVs received 52.5 percent of all gift-related buzz, according to Nielsen Online.

DVDs was second with 24.4 percent of all blog posts about gifts, followed by Toys with 11.3 percent.

Laptops received 8.4 percent of blog buzz, while GPSs had 3.4 percent.

Given the frail economy, it’s a given that many shoppers are looking for deals. Nielsen Online looked into the top message boards with messages containing either “coupon” or “coupons” and found that http://forums.slickdeals.net was first in terms of share of messages mentioning either of the words.
