WWE Names Rochester EVP of Marketing

World Wrestling Entertainment has promoted Geof Rochester to executive vice president, marketing. The post went into effect May 11.

Rochester replaced Kurt Schneider, who left the position this month after four years to become chief executive officer of the Harlem Globetrotters.

In this newly expanded role, Rochester will oversee global marketing, integrated brand initiatives, talent branding, live events, pay-per-view, advertising and promotions, research, creative services and PR and government relations. He reports to Chairman Vince McMahon.

One of Rochester’s immediate duties is to oversee marketing efforts around WWE’s upcoming Summer Slam pay-per-view event.

Rochester joined WWE as senior vice president, marketing last September. Prior to that, he worked as senior vice president, marketing for Showtime Networks Inc. During his three years there, Rochester created the brand’s ‘What’s Next” positioning.

He previously held top marketing posts with Comcast Cable, Radisson Hotels and Procter & Gamble.
