Work-At-Home Operator Settles with FTC

National Crafters Corp. and its owner Thomas F. Diaz Jr. have settled Federal Trade Commission charges that they misled consumers with a work-at-home scheme.

The defendants will pay $25,000 in consumer redress.

According to the FTC, the defendants offered consumers the chance to earn money by assembling jewelry. However, they falsely advertised that the assembly work was easy and did not require experience, the FTC continued.

The defendants falsely promised that they would supply all materials, and that assemblers could earn from $360 to $720 per week, according to the FTC.

As part of the settlement, National Crafters and Diaz are Banned from selling work-at-home opportunities.
