Wal-Mart, Kodak Reprise Wall of Honor

Wal-Mart Stores and Eastman Kodak Co. will extend their annual Veteran’s Day Wall of Honor display with a tie-in to the Department of Defense.

The Wall of Honor, now in its eighth year, lets Wal-Mart shoppers post photos of current or veteran military members on a Wall of Honor display in their local store. Kodak sponsors a photo package that lets shoppers bring in a photo of their soldier and make free prints on Kodak’s Picture Maker kiosk: two 5- by 7-inch prints— in a decorative frame for the display, the other to take home— a wallet-sized print in a Badge of Honor pin to wear. The campaign won the 2003 PRO Award for Best Account-Specific Campaign, for Kodak and Idea Connections (Oct. 2, 2003 Xtra).

This year, Wal-Mart and Kodak.com also will participate in the DOD’s America Supports You campaign encouraging civilian support of the military. Wal-Mart will post 3,700 Message Books in-store for staff and shoppers to sign; the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation will distribute the books to active and veteran soldiers over the holidays.
