Vine Now Lets You Embed Those Six-Second Videos

Twitter’s video darling, Vine, now allows its users to embed those six-second videos on websites, thanks to an update to its app. Embedded posts can be created from a post’s page on vine.co or via the mobile app. Embedded videos can be 600px, 480px or 320px wide. They can also be “Simple,” which only displays the video; or they can be “Postcard” style, which displays the normal Vine frame around the video. Users can embed posts from other users, as long as they’ve already been shared outside of Vine.

The update to its app also lets users share posts by others to Facebook or Twitter, and fixed two bugs related to recording.

These updates increase Vine’s appeal to marketers and brands, which can benefit from the expanded sharing options for videos made with the app. It also gives more momentum to the emphasis on all things visual taking hold of the desktop and mobile worlds, thanks to the likes of Facebook, Instagram and Vine.

While there’s no hard headcount of Vine users available, RJMetrics recently concluded that about 3 percent of highly active Twitter users have used the video-sharing app.
