Viking Office Products has started a direct mail business in Portugal.
The new endeavor, which is targeted to the small-to-medium-sized business, is the 14th Viking has launched overseas.
Viking Office Products, a wholly owned subsidiary of Office Depot Inc. in Delray Beach, FL, will handle Portugal operations across the border in Spain. Customers in Portugal will be serviced through Viking’s call center in northwest Spain. Portuguese-speaking employees have been hired to serve the new customers.
Some 5,000 products are to be introduced in Portugal.
A Web site http://www.vikingdirect.pt serving the area will debut in 2003.
